Spring Break for both Calhoun Community College and the University of Alabama Huntsville, the two institutions of higher learning that our kids attend, began today. Since we made no travel plans, do not usually trek off to the student infested beaches during spring break, and I find myself stuck in weather-related doldrums, I thought I would post a few photos of times spent in warmer, sunnier places. (As always, click to enlarge or view full frame--maybe one of these days I'll get the size right)
Hmm. I think I was in this one's favorite spot. |

Wish I was there. Definitely. |
oh it looks lovely and warm there!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it? Today has been really cold with snow flurries, but no accumulation at all.
DeleteThat tern at the top looks like he was turning up sand under his feet...just playing in the sand.
ReplyDeleteThose birds were so funny to watch, but they did make me feel as though they were watching and talking about me. Just tryng to get food scraps.
DeleteBeginning to feel like we will never be this warm again!
ReplyDeleteme too just when we have a hint of warm and its back to raw bitter cold which is back where I live tonight no snow though that seems to miss us just raw bitter wind and going below freezing....brrrr
DeleteYes. Even though our winter has been quite mild, we've had rain and yukky weather. Today the wind chill is awful. Snow, but no accumulation, but more expected tonight and tomorrow. My yard is as green as spring. Whatever that is.
DeleteThe beach pictures are lovely. As I look outside my window, we have about 9" of fresh snow on the ground and light flurries expected for awhile yet. A good day to knit and sip hot tea.
ReplyDeleteHere in the South, everything comes to a grinding halt when we even get an inch of snow. Some years ago we got 8 inches. Things were crazy and it was beautiful. Last year we got a tiny bit, but not much these days like back in the Dark Ages when I was a kid.
DeleteThose aren't Washington beaches!!!
ReplyDelete(Changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes!)
Right, RG. Hot, humid, sticky, Gulf Coast beaches. After the wind chill today, hot, humid, and sticky would feel good.
DeleteThat's a good song to keep in mind today, along with several others of his!
DeleteSo beautiful and so warm, just what I needed to see! We had some crazy snow weather but now it feels like springtime. Such a random week but good to relax this weekend. Hope you'll have a wonderful Easter!
ReplyDeleteSmile today. :)
