A parting shot from Sunset Crater Volcano of the San Francisco Peaks and Humphreys Peak |
Happy New Year to all. Trying to get back on track with the trip photos that I'd hoped to finish by the end of 2013.
Our two-day stay in Albuquerque led us to some neat places. We visited the New Mexicoar Museum of Natural History and Science, took the tram to the top of Sandia Peak 10,378 ft), went to the National Museum of Nuclear Energy, and stopped at Petroglyphs National Monument on the west side of Albuquerque.
The petroglyphs were carved into the volcanic rock (yep, more volcanoes, many of which were visible from the top of Sandia Peak) by early peoples living in the Albuquerque area between 400 and 600 years ago. More info can be found here.
Good for you for getting on with those vaca pictures!
