160 Yards
That's how long the finished two-ply yarn turned out to be. At about 20 wraps per inch, it's lace, baby, or fingering weight yarn, depending on which yarn chart you use. Now all I have to do is find a small project for it. Any suggestions?
Beautiful colors and even spinning. Good job, girlfriend. How about knitting an interesting square or two to put under a vase of flowers , potted plant, interesting art object, etc. I think it adds visual effect and texture to something you like to have in your line of vision while sitting in your favorite spot.
Really pretty colors, looks soft too. I was thinking "hat" when I saw it, but then it's really cold here today. I think that idea of making it like a little doily is a good idea too, that way you can admire it all the time. Smile today. :)
Would do, RG, but with 160 yards it would have to be a tiny version. 1600 to 2000 would maybe do it. Too bad those were only samples. I hope they decide to do larger batches.
I enjoy art and like to look for it in the natural world. My craft interests include handspinning and most of the fiber arts, especially knitting, weaving, and working with paper. Other important things are my family and friends, my pets, nature, literature, poetry, music, history, birding, star gazing, museums...and the list goes on. In other times and places, I've been an archaeologist, taught anthropology, and worked in a living history museum, so I find all sorts of things to hold my interest and keep me entertained. I hope to share some of these things with you.

ReplyDeleteA good idea. Thanks, Nancy!

Sweater - large, raglan sleeves. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteI never know what to do with those small samples. It sure is beautiful yarn, though. Nice work.
