Who Who Who-o-o

Enjoyed seeing this Great Horned Owl at the Chattanooga Zoo. There are some in our neighborhood. Very impressive when they fly past. Sometimes we hear them hooting at night. If you hoot, they will hoot back. Fun.

  4. what a beautiful owl...I miss seeing them at the zoos with the kids. They had a wonderful owl program at the zoo in Seattle for the kids to learn about them, and we also saw them at the TN zoo in Nashville. Have you read the book "Wesley" about a wonderful little owl? I loved that one and made me want to learn even more about owls. It was so good to see your zoo photos today...I haven't been able to visit for a while, thanks for making me smile. Smile today. :)

  5. Wow, love this baby. Owls are so great. We were out walking very late last week and it was wonderful to hear the Tawnies hooting to each other. I am always envious of the wonderful old derelict buildings you have in the States. They are few and far between here as there is always someone changing them into housing accommodation.

  6. There were barred owls at Burritt, but I never got to see any of them, just heard their calls. Now and then I see a little screech owl--too cute. What amazes me is that these Great Horned owls are all around the neighborhood. There is also a good variety of hawks and falcons--I love seeing them, but really have to babysit the buns when they are in their playpens. One day I will build a walk-in enclosure for bunny safety and my peace of mind.
