The shuttle landing description is really rather a poor job. You can't adequately describe it as it streaks along. There's no engine sound since they are gliding in with no engine power, but the sonic booms and the sound of it sizzling along through the air was just awesome. I couldn't find a photo that approximated the size it was as it passed overhead. The one I used was about twice the size, but you could see the landing gear.
